Introduction

Cookpress is a small press for home cooks. We help English-speaking creators turn an idea into a finished, sellable cookbook (PDF and EPUB) using a guided wizard, AI-written recipes, AI-generated photography, and an optional audiobook narration. We take your privacy seriously, and this policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how long we keep it.

This policy applies to getcookpress.com and the Cookpress service.

Information We Collect

Account Information
- What We Collect: Your email address and, if you sign in with a third-party provider (OAuth), the basic profile details that provider shares with us.
- Purpose: To create and secure your account, authenticate you, and provide support.
Wizard Input
- What We Collect: The content you enter when building a cookbook — theme, cuisine, meal type, recipe count, tone, style preferences, and any other text you provide.
- Purpose: To generate the cookbook you asked for.
Generated Cookbooks
- What We Collect: The recipe books we produce for you (text, cover and chapter images, and any optional audiobook narration).
- Purpose: To let you preview, download, and manage your library of cookbooks.
Browser and Usage Metadata
- What We Collect: Basic technical data such as browser type, device and operating system, and how you interact with key features.
- Purpose: To keep the service working across devices, debug issues, and improve the product.
Payment Information
- What We Collect: When you subscribe, your payment is processed by our payment provider, Creem. We receive confirmation of your subscription and limited billing details — we never see or store your full card number.
- Purpose: To manage subscriptions and process payments securely.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies:

Authentication cookies to keep you signed in (session).
Preference cookies that remember necessary settings.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies, and we do not sell your data to advertisers.

We don't sell or trade your personal information. We share data only with the service providers we rely on to operate Cookpress, each under their own terms and confidentiality obligations:

Creem — payment and subscription processing (merchant of record).
Supabase — database and authentication.
Cloudflare R2 — storage for your generated PDFs, images, and audiobooks.
Resend — transactional and notification email (e.g. "your cookbook is ready").
Cookpress AI gateway (self-hosted, api.aivoxhub.com) — generates recipe text, cover and chapter photos, and audiobook narration.
DeepSeek API and Replicate — used only as fallback providers when our primary AI gateway is unavailable.

We may also disclose information to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests from authorities, or protect the rights, property, and safety of Cookpress, our users, or others.

How Long We Keep Your Data

Free plan: Generated cookbooks are stored in Cloudflare R2 and automatically deleted 7 days after creation. Download them before then.
Paid plans (Pro / Premium): Generated cookbooks are retained for as long as your account is active.
Account information is kept while your account exists.

Data Security

Your data is stored on the infrastructure of the providers listed above, with encryption in transit and access controls in place. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information.

Your Rights and Deleting Your Account

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. To delete your account, email us at the address below and we will remove your account information and generated cookbooks from our active systems. Some data may persist briefly in backups before being purged.
